CALHOUN CO. – A 39-year-old old Tallahassee woman sustained serious injuries in an early morning crash in Calhoun County Tuesday at SR 71 and NW John F. Bailey Road.
According to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver was southbound on SR 71 at 2:49 a.m. when her pickup truck ran off the road to the right. The truck continued on toward the west shoulder, where it traveled south on the grass for approximately 200 feet.
The driver then tried to steer back onto the road but overcorrected. As she pulled back into the southbound lane, the truck overturned several times while rotating in a counter-clockwise motion.
The truck came to a stop on the center line of SR 71 on its left side, facing east.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was flown to Bay Medical Center by Survivor Flight 21.
