Relationship with student leads to
the arrest of Sneads Softball Coach
SNEADS, FL – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was recently made aware of a potentially inappropriate relationship between Sneads High School Softball Coach Michael Mader and a juvenile. An investigation immediately began into the accusations. This resulted in the arrest of Mader, who is being charged with three counts of Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a Victim Over 12 but Under 16 Years Old and one count of Offenses Against Students by an Authority Figure – all of which are second-degree felonies.
To protect the victim’s privacy, no further information will be released at this time. This investigation is ongoing.
“It is of utmost importance to me and the entire Jackson County Sheriff’s Office that we protect the privacy of victims in such cases,” Sheriff Donald L. Edenfield said.
