BRISTOL, FL- The recently-released playing schedule for the state softball semifinals has resulted in some last minute changes for this year’s Liberty County High School graduation.

The graduation ceremony was originally set for May 24 but that date has been moved up to May 22 after school officials learned that the 1A Final Four will start on the same day, with the state championship game to follow on the 25th.

“We feel that there’s a high probability that our softball team could make the final four again this year,” said LCHS Assistant Principal Tim Davis, who added that the decision to change the date was to ensure senior players could participate in the graduation ceremony as well as the state championship softball series.  Liberty County brought home the 1A Softball Championship trophy last year.

The updated schedule includes Awards Night in the gym at 7  p.m on Friday, May 17. Baccalaureate will be held on Sunday, May 19, in the gym at 7 p.m.

The school district is covering the cost of reprinting the inserts with the revised date for the graduation invitations.
