Chester Family Reunion held
QUINCY, FL – The 87th Annual Chester Family Reunion was held June 22 at Sycamore Methodist Church.
Several were recognized with engraved paper weights commemorating the event. Follette Whitehead Chester was the matriarch, one-year-old Hayez Widner, great-great grandson of Pauline Chester Shepard was the youngest, Amy Chester Jordan traveled the farthest from Defuniak Springs, and special recognition was given to Elizabeth Grace “Sister” Arnold for her outstanding softball season with Northwest Florida State resulting in her making first team All-American.
The Chester family has lived in Liberty and Gadsden counties since the mid 1800s, coming from South Carolina through Decatur County, Georgia. The reunion is always held the Saturday after Father’s Day.
