hit tree & catches fire

GADSDEN COUNTY, FL – A Quincy man whose truck hit a tree and then erupted into flames escaped with minor injuries Friday afternoon on CR 268 (High Bridge Road), one mile east of Old Federal Road.

According to the FHP report, the 44-year-old driver was traveling southbound at 3:56 p.m. when he entered a right curve and then lost control of his pickup.   The truck crossed the northbound lane and went onto the east shoulder of the road, where it struck a tree and caught fire.

FHP was assisted at the scene by the Quincy Fire Dept., Midway Fire Dept. and the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office.
