Honoring our lost service men and women
Remembering the Fallen on
MEMORIAL DAY 2025
BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – District 2 Commander Doyle Combs, of American Legion Post 272, Blountstown, is shown with Chaplain Dick Stanley, of American Legion Post 172, Hosford/Telogia, and Quartermaster Anita Cantu, of Apalachee Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 12010, after they placed a wreath at the Calhoun County Courthouse monument during the annual program to recognize the men and women who gave their lives for our liberty. The federal holiday honors those who died while serving in the US Armed Forces.
The large monument in front of the Calhoun County Courthouse serves as a daily reminder to all of the price others paid to allow us to live as free Americans.
The three are shown below along with another local veteran who was recognized as Officer of the Day, Doug Bulzer of VFW Post 12010.
Shiver’s Florist of Blountstown donated the beautiful wreath.
