Liberty Co. receives

$3,525,000 for new

jail & administrative

offices, school buses

and high school track

 

TALLAHASSEE, FL – The 2025 Florida Legislative Session concluded on June 16, 2025 with a $115.1 billion state budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26, a $3.5 billion reduction from the prior year.

State Senator Corey Simon, representing Senate District 3, which spans 13 counties (Dixie, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor, and Wakulla), championed rural development, education, and health initiatives, securing key victories for his constituents.

The total funding for Liberty County was:

•Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Administrative and Jail Complex- $3,000,000

•Liberty County School District School Bus Replacement- $155,000

•Liberty County High School Track Restoration- $370,000

Total – $3,525,000
