HOSFORD, FL – Work is progressing on the installation of a four-way traffic signal at the intersection of SR 20 and SR 65 in Hosford.  Bucket trucks flanked SR 20 last Thusday as crews pulled a cable across the road while workers paused traffic.

An FDOT employee said the project is going quickly, and noted that the new concrete poles and four corner preparations were nearing completion.

The previous flashing beacon was removed after a traffic study showed that a full three-color signal was warranted at the site.

A Sept. 8 traffic study at the intersection showed that 4, 800 vehicles traveled SR 20 that day, with 1,450 being counted on SR 65 in the same time frame.

The area has been the site of 41 traffic crashes since January 1, 2020, according to the Department of  Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles in Tallahassee.
