Head-on crash claims

two lives early Friday

morning in Gadsden Co.

GADSDEN  COUNTY, FL – A 32-year-old Gretna woman and a Quincy man, age 51, were killed in a head-on collision just after 7 a.m. this morning in Gadsden County.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the fatal crash happened on SR 267 (Pat Thomas Parkway) near Walsh Road.

The first SUV, driven by the woman, was southbound in the inside northbound lane of  SR 267 when it crashed into a second SUV traveling north in that lane.  The vehicles collided and then came to a stop in the north lanes.

Both drivers – who were each traveling alone – were pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic was rerouted early this morning as investigators arrived to assess the scene.

FHP was assisted by the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, Quincy Police Department, Gadsden County EMS and Gadsden County Fire Rescue.
