US 90 in Gadsden

GADSDEN CO., FL – An early morning crash on July 13 in Gadsden County left one man in critical condition and two others with serious injuries. The 49-year-old driver in the pickup they hit, who was wearing a seatbelt, escaped with only minor injuries.
According to the FHP report, the car was westbound on US 90 (SR 10) at 5:15 a.m. when the 29-year-old driver went off the road, crossed the center grassy median and drove into the oncoming eastbound lane where he hit a pickup truck head-on.
The impact sent the car into a rotation before coming to final rest facing east, partially in the eastbound lane and center median. The truck came to a stop in the median.
The driver of the car, who is from Quincy, sustained serious injuries. Both passengers – including a 23-year-old man from Midway and a 20-year-old woman from Quincy, along with the driver – were taken to a local hospital.
An inside eastbound lane closure was set up by FDOT for about a hour and a half. The crash site was west of River Burch Road.
FHP was assisted on scene by the Midway Fire Department, the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, FDOT Road Rangers, and FDOT Midway.
