ALTHA MAN DIES
MARIANNA – A 58-year-old Altha man died following an early morning accident Monday in Jackson County.
The driver was traveling on SR 71, just north of Suncrest Road around 6:20 a.m. when he lost control of his pickup truck, according to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Investigators suspect a medical reason could have caused him to run off the road.
The truck traveled across the west shoulder of SR 71 before coming to a stop in the tree line. The driver was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A relative said the driver suffered a heart attack while on his way to work at Mallory Elevator in Marianna.
