Obituary – Dennis Travis Smith
DENNIS TRAVIS SMITH
BLOUNTSTOWN – On June 3, 2023, Dennis Travis Smith, 45, of Panama City ascended to his heavenly home.
Travis was born on Nov. 18, 1977 in Tallahassee to Dennis Larry Smith and Wendy Bracewell Smith. Travis was employed for many years by Stone’s Site Work Solutions as a heavy equipment operator. His work skills were exceeded only by his love of the industry in which he worked. Travis was considered a knowledgeable and able co-worker by what he called his “ride and die” best friends – Jamie Stone, Steven Pumphrey, Gage Stone and Ronnie Strickland.
Travis’ life was shortened by a serious illness, but he lived every day to the fullest with meaning and purpose. He touched many lives with his caring smile and many acts of kindness. His life will be celebrated with the love, happiness, and smiles that his memory brings. He can now live and rest eternally with a body free of pain. All our love, forever.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Larry Smith; paternal grandparents, William and Iris Smith of Tallahassee; and maternal grandparents, Wendle “Ranky” Bracewell and Betty and Lionel Bridges of Blountstown.
Survivors include his mother, Wendy Bracewell Smith; his brother, Craig Smith (Tracy); one sister, “Little” Wendy Smith and Michael Ward of Blountstown; three children, Aubrey Kay, Audrey and Blake; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be scheduled and announced at a later date. A private ceremony is being planned for family and close friends.
All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
