MARIANNA – Thanks to a $7,500 grant from All-In Credit Union in the Fall of 2022, a strategic plan was implemented to address the food desert surrounding the five counties served by Chipola College. The Food Pantry was established to help students with emergency needs and to reduce the need for long-term food assistance. Food was purchased and a pantry opened in Spring 2023.

Glenda Bethel, Instructor, and Phi Beta Lambda Advisor, worked with students and Student Services to help meet the emergency food needs of current students. In alignment with the College’s mission, the support from All-In Credit Union has helped create a plan to help students focus on their education and not hunger. The vision expanded to include a career closet to provide students with appropriate attire for job interviews, internships, and other special events. The “All in Food Pantry” and Career Closet are in Building Z, Room 107.

We invite the community to a ribbon cutting for Chipola’s Food Pantry and Career Closet on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 2:30 p.m. The event will be held in Building Z, Room 107 on the Chipola Campus.
