MARIANNA, FL – Alfred Henry Pumphrey, age 91, of Marianna, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 30, 2023.
Alfred was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, talking about the good old days, and truly loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Flossie Hand Pumphrey; brother, Linwood Pumphrey of Panama City; sisters, Cecelia Moats of Altha, Edra Peacock of Marianna, Elvia Pittman of Marianna and Eunice Fallin of Albany, GA; sons, Randel Pumphrey, Steve Pumphrey, and Jim Pumphrey, all of Altha.
Survivors include wife of 71 years, Flora Melvin Pumphrey of Marianna; son Luther Pumphrey and wife Mary of Marianna; daughters Gloria Mercer and husband Derek of Grand Ridge and Gwendolyn Barwick and husband Coy of Clarksville; daughters-in-law, Frances Pumphrey, Pauline Pumphrey, Debbi Pumphrey of Altha; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends and relatives Friday Nov. 3 from 12 p.m. (CT) until 1 p.m. (CT) at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. (CT) with Reverends Luther Pumphrey and Addis Habbard officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
