storm preparations

as soon as possible

from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office
Calhoun County is now under a Hurricane Warning.
Courthouse closes at noon today, Sept. 25.
Schools will be closing at 1 p.m. today and closed Thursday and Friday.
Expected wind speeds in hurricane level. 4-8″ of rain is expected.
Make your hurricane preparations NOW.  Impacts are expected from the hurricane tomorrow.
•Fill your gas containers and vehicles.
•Get your prescriptions filled and picked up.
•Test and have your generator ready. Use only in well-ventilated areas.
•Have food on hand for one week.
•If you don’t feel safe in your home, plan to evacuate today.
We are in contact with our state partners (Florida Dept of Law Enforcement and the Governor’s Office). In addition, the National Guard has been deployed to our county to help us and surrounding counties.
