CALHOUN COUNTY, FL – One man is dead following a shooting early last night at a home in the Shuman Ferry Road Community off CR 275, five miles south of Altha.
Sheriff Glenn Kimbrel said the victim died of a single gunshot wound.
Investigators from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, were at the scene until the early morning hours today.
No one has been charged at this point. The sheriff said that prior to the shooting, the victim and his wife had been involved in a domestic argument at their home.
The sheriff said the wife “is exercising her rights” and communicating very little with investigators.
He said he expects to release additional information about the tragic incident later today after meeting with his investigators and FDLE.
