ALTHA MAN DIES
Altha man dies after
after truck overturns
GULF COUNTY – A 34-year-old Altha man died today after losing control of the tractor and trailer he was driving, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver was traveling southbound on SR 71 and approaching CR 387 around 12:30 p.m. in Gulf County when the attached trailer began veering off the road and onto the west shoulder.
As he attempted to regain control of the vehicle, the cab began overturning and stopped on the west shoulder of the road.
Emergency workers removed the driver from the wreckage and transported him to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries a short time later.
FHA was assisted at the scene by the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office, Gulf County EMS and volunteer firefighters from Wewahitchka and Dalkeith.
Actually, it was The Calhoun-Liberty Journal that ceased printing after our third printing company shut down. Online was the only option, and I appreciate people like you willing to make the transition to reading news online. I’ll try to make it worth your while! I’m hoping to get enough advertising to keep it free to the public but online advertising is still a new idea for my previous print customers…but every time you click on a story and the numbers on the website show how many people are reading, it gives me information to show local businesses why they should be advertising here. Those ads are what will keep me in business. I appreciate your comments.
Thank you,
Teresa
More local news is very welcome on my phone. Since the County Record stop printing the paper, local news, free news (some of us are on very finite incomes) is a blessing. Being sick and house bound a lot of the time, I don’t get the “gossip” you normally get at church or the grocerie store. The stories are pertinent and timely. Thank you.
