June 6 road trip takes American

Legion riders to Lanark Village

BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Blountstown’s District 2 American Legion chapter made history with their first district motorcycle trip on Saturday, June 6. Riders from the Jacksonville and Crawfordville chapters met up with the local group in Calhoun County.   From there, they enjoyed a long ride to Lanark Village, where they had the opportunity to spend time with more Legion members.

The group already has two more events planned.

• This Saturday, June 13, the group will hold a Benefit Poker Run.  Cost to enter is $20 per rider and $10 per passenger, with a meal included. Registration is at 9 a.m.

Net proceeds go to Lt. Andy Pace of BPD to help offset medical expenses after a March 12th motorcycle accident.

The Poker Run starts and ends at Calco Senior Center,  16859 NE Cayson Street in Blountstown with stops at Southport American Legion Post 375, Chipley AMVETS 7,  Alford The Trading Post and Fountain AMVETS 231.  For more info, call Shadow Lambeth at (850)447-1945.

•The Second Annual Veterans Villa Festival is planned for Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Calhoun County Airport.  There will be a car show, motorcycle show and semi show.  Admission is $5.
