Career offender charged
with drug trafficking
from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office
MARIANNA, FL – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Narcotics Investigators were conducting surveillance at the home of Erik Leronn Gammons, also known as “E-bay,” in Marianna, when they saw a vehicle belonging to one of Gammons’ associates leave the driveway on Monday, May 5.

Investigators witnessed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop. Gammons immediately exited the rear passenger’s side of the vehicle and put his hands behind his back as if he were under arrest. Gammons then stated that there were drugs inside the vehicle.
When a search of the vehicle was conducted, Investigators located approximately four pounds of crystal
methamphetamine, one pound of cocaine, digital scales, and plastic sandwich bags used to package drugs for resale. In the same place Investigators found the drugs, they also located documents addressed to Gammons.
Gammons was arrested on drug-related charges stemming from an earlier JCSO investigation. He was also found to be in possession approximately $2,761 in numerous denominations. Gammons was recently released from prison for charges related to drug distribution and is a convicted felon.
He is initially being charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances.
Sheriff Donald Edenfield thanked the United States Attorney’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration for their assistance in this case.
“To those of you who are distributing this poison on the streets of Jackson County, know that we are coming after you,” Sheriff Edenfield said. “We will not stop until every known drug dealer in our county is off the streets. Former Wewa High
School teacher charged
with inappropriate
relationship with student
from the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office
WEWAHITCHKA, FL – On May 5, 2025, the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) received information from Gulf District Schools regarding an allegation of a possible sexual relationship between a teacher and student at Wewahitchka High School.

The teacher was identified as 34-year-old Parker Eugene Harris Ottoson. Upon learning of these allegations, Gulf Districts Schools immediately terminated Harris Ottoson, who was a probationary employee.
The GCSO immediately opened an investigation. During a forensic interview, conducted by the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center’s Child Protection Team, the student disclosed that sexual activity occurred with Harris Ottoson.
Harris Ottoson was arrested May 8 on a warrant for Lewd or Lascivious Battery on a Victim 12 to 16 Years of Age; Lewd or Lascivious Molestation on a Victim 12 to 16 Years of Age Offender 18 Years of Age or Older; and Authority Figure Soliciting Lewd Conduct with Student. He was booked into the Gulf County Detention Facility and is awaiting first appearance.
The investigation is ongoing. At this time, it is unknown if there will be additional charges.
