Driver, 80, killed when
pickup hits tractor-trailer
PANAMA CITY – An 80-year-old Bonifay man died  Tuesday when his pickup ran into the side of a tractor-trailer, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Both vehicles were northbound in the outside lane of SR 77 around 2:47 p.m. when the driver of the smaller truck failed to notice that the 2018 Mack Tractor, which was hauling an empty dump truck, was slowing down while approaching the traffic light at CR 388.Â
The left side of the 2015 GMC collided with the right rear of the trailer and tractor. The 70-year-old driver of the 2018 Mack Tractor, who is from Chipley, was not injured.Â
