CHIPLEY, FL – Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in the Big Bend area as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
In preparation for the Labor Day holiday weekend, there will be no lane closures or other activities that impede traffic on major state roads beginning at 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30 and ending at 12 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3.
LIBERTY COUNTY
• S.R. 20 Resurfacing from Apalachicola River Bridge to east of Northwest Revell Road – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for paving operations
GADSDEN COUNTY
•U.S. 90 Observation Pier and Sidewalk Operations from Chalk Street to Ralph Strong Road – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for construction operations.
JACKSON COUNTY
•U.S. 90 Resurfacing from Chipola River Bridge to east of S.R. 71 South – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.
•S.R. 71 Resurfacing from U.S. 90 to North of Basswood Road – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.
LEON COUNTY
· U.S. 319 (Capital Circle) Resurfacing from U.S. 27 (Apalachee Parkway) to Park Avenue – Motorists may encounter a traffic pattern modification beginning Wednesday, Sept. 4. North and southbound travel lanes from Woodrich Road to north of the S.R. 267 will be shifted west to align with the lanes currently being utilized south of Woodrich Road.
· S.R. 155 (Meridian Road) Resurfacing from S.R. 61 (Thomasville Road) to Lakeshore Drive – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.
· U.S. 90 (Mahan Drive) from U.S. 319 (Capital Circle) to east of County Road, C.R. 1568 (Buck Lake Road) –  Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.
•U.S. 90 (West Tennessee Street) Resurfacing from Aenon Church Road to Ocala Road – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for construction operations.
•Interstate 10 (I-10) Interchange Improvement at S.R. 61 and S.R. 261 (U.S. 319) – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures at Exit 203 Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for construction activities.
•U.S. 90 (Mahan Drive) Tree Trimming Operations from I-10 Exit 209 Interchange to Jefferson County Line. – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for tree trimming operations.
•Leon County Routine Maintenance for Striping Operations – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the following roads:
o I-10 from Gadsden County Line to Jefferson County Line.
o I-10 from west of C.R. 181 interchange to west of C.R. 192 interchange.
o U.S. 90 (Mahan Drive) in Leon and Jefferson County between Apex Drive and Lake Miccosukee Bridge.
o S.R. 261 (Capital Circle) from Centerville Road to S.R. 61 (Thomasville Road).
o S.R. 263 (Capital Circle) from the Town of Crawfordville to the Town of Woodville.
o S.R. 61A (Gail Avenue) from S.R. 363 (Woodville Highway) to Adams Street.
WAKULLA Â COUNTY
 •U.S. 98 from the Wakulla River to S.R. 267 (Bloxham Cutoff Road) and from S.R. 363 (Woodville Highway) to Lighthouse Road – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for paving operations through Friday, Sept. 6 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for paving operations.
•U.S. 319 (Crawfordville Highway) from Woodrich Road to north of S.R. 267 – Motorists will encounter a new traffic configuration beginning Wednesday, Sept. 4, as all travel lanes will be shifted onto the newly constructed western lanes. To prepare for the traffic shift, lane closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, through 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4.
BAY COUNTY
· U.S. 98 west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue – U.S. 98 drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures, between Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue and Louisiana Avenue, through the end of September.
· U.S. 98 Widening from Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street – U.S. 98 drivers may encounter alternating lane closures between Pier Park Drive and Nautilus Street, Sunday, Aug. 18 through Saturday, Aug. 24 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for drainage work.
•Hutchison Boulevard from U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) to U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) – Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday, Aug. 18 through Thursday, Aug. 22 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. as crews perform sidewalk and concrete work throughout the project area. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) Resurfacing from Walton County Line to Heather Drive – Drivers will encounter nighttime intermittent lane closures Sunday, Aug. 18 through Thursday, Aug. 22 for asphalt paving activities.
All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone. Speeding fines double when workers are present.
