Deputies searching for attempted
murder suspect following shooting
MARIANNA – On Monday, March 13, around midnight, JCSO received a call reporting that someone had been shot at a residence just outside of 
Cottondale. Deputies quickly responded to the area and found that a female that had been shot and was taken to the hospital by EMS.
After further investigation, Juan-Luis Cervantes was determined to have 
been the shooter. A region wide BOLO was placed for Cervantes and the vehicle he is known to be driving. Deputies, along with FDLE , worked through the night processing the scene and gathering evidence. Law enforcement is still actively looking for him. This is believed to have been an isolated incident, but Cervantes is considered armed and dangerous. He will face attempted murder charges when he is located.
Sheriff Edenfield asks that anyone who may know his whereabouts call our office immediately. If you see him, please do not approach him, and call 911.
