House fire levels home
on Lee Duggar Rd. Tues.
BRISTOL, FL – Firefighters responded to find a wood structure fully engulfed after a woman woke up and discovered her home in flames Tuesday morning.
The residence, located at 11229 NW Lake Mystic Road, was leveled in the blaze. The woman living there escaped with only the clothes on her back. She ran to a neighbor’s home to get help because she did not have a phone.
The woman said she had cooked out on the porch the previous night and thought her dogs might have knocked the grill over, causing any remaining burning embers to ignite the wooden porch.
Her five children were not home at the time of the fire.
The Bristol Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the local forestry staff. The family is receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
