BRISTOL – Worried family members are looking for information on the whereabouts of a Bristol woman after she failed to return home following a party in Blountstown Saturday night.

Perla Olvera, 31, met with friends at a large block party at Ward Road earlier that evening.

A woman identified as a friend of Perla’s told Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Investigator John Scheetz that she drove Perla’s truck to her residence in the Hugh Creek Park community and invited Perla to spend the night since she had drinking earlier.

She said Perla declined to go in the house and instead decided to sleep in her vehicle. She and the vehicle were gone the next morning.

According to a post from the family, law enforcement obtained video of Perla’s vehicle passing the Calhoun County Courthouse in Blountstown at 1:09 a.m Sunday morning, heading east on SR 20. The last ping on her phone was at 3:15 am Sunday July 15th, 2023 in Hugh Creek.

The sheriff’s office is waiting on the availability of a helicopter to search the area where she was last seen.

Perla, who works as a CNA in Blountstown, was wearing a long-sleeve burgundy shirt, blue jeans and black ankle boots that evening.

A flyer with a photo of the missing woman has been posted in the area, with the plea that anyone with information contact her brother, Andrew Alvarado, at (850) 556-7119 or Jacky Pineda at (850) 447-0324, or the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 674-5049.   “She has two daughters that need their mother back home,” her brother said.  The flyer also explains that family can’t reach her and her phone is going to voicemail.

Her two young children are staying with their uncle.
