Newest Busy Bee gets a surprise!
BLOUNTSTOWN – The newest member of the local Busy Bees sewing group got a surprise during Monday’s weekly gathering at the W.T. Neal Civic Center in Blountstown. Cheryl Rowan (below) recently moved from Utah to Bristol and was just getting settled in when she was invited to join the lively sewing circle. The group is dedicated to making quilts to present to service members and other worthy citizens. Instead of working alone at home, they take their machines and meet for a few hours every week to sew, visit and talk while creating these special gifts. Their new member had helped by cutting out quilting squares but didn’t have a working sewing machine of her own until a good used one was found and presented to her. Anyone with a working machine that they would like to donate so that future members can help with this community quilting project is urged to call Diane Evans at (850) 694-6786.
