CALHOUN COUNTY – A Marianna man and a six-year-old girl riding with him were seriously injured when their car ran into the back of tractor traveling on SR 20 Monday morning in Calhoun County.
According to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the 33-year-old driver was eastbound on SR around 8 a.m. when failed to see the slower moving tractor ahead of him in his lane. When the car slammed into the rear of the tractor, the impact sent the car traveling counter-clockwise. The car then rolled over a full rotation and stopped in the westbound lane, facing northeast.
The collision pushed the tractor across the center line of SR 20 and off the road, where it overturned on its right side. The tractor operator, 37, of Grand Ridge, escaped injury.
The injured driver and passenger were transported by emergency helicopter to an area hospital.
