Car fire stops bridge traffic Friday
Vehicle catches fire on Trammel Bridge
A woman who was reportedly seen speeding through Calhoun County just minutes earlier escaped injury after her vehicle caught fire while she was traveling east on the Trammel Bridge between Blountstown and Bristol shortly after noon today. Eastbound traffic came to a standstill as firefighters from both Bristol and Calhoun County responded to the scene. Foam was used to put out the flames that erupted in the Mercury Monterey. The driver was not injured by was badly upset by the blaze and reportedly indicated that she was going to jump off the bridge. She was taken into custody for her own safety. Traffic resumed after about 30 minutes.
