BLOUNTSTOWN – An active investigation is continuing into Thursday’s robbery at the Citgo gas station in Blountstown. Investigators are looking at two suspects and expect to release more information soon.
Shown here are security video images of the two men black males who wore covid masks to disguise their faces during the robbery. One had a knife; the other was armed with a gun. According to a news release from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, the men demanded that the clerk get behind the register and empty the money into a paper bag. They fled with an estimated $950.
The pair ran out of the store in a northwesterly direction, got in a nearby car and fled.
The store clerk called 911 to report the theft at 8:32 p.m. Deputies and investigators arrived on scene and collected evidence and surveillance footage. K9 tracking units from Calhoun and Liberty Correctional Institutions arrived, as well as FHP units and the Blountstown Police Department. Â
