One hurt, two escape
injury in May 9 crash
BAY COUNTY – A 57-year-old Blountstown man was injured when a car pulled out in front of him as he was traveling east on SR 20 near the Bay-Calhoun line around 11 a.m. on May 9.
The truck was in a passing lane when a Panama City woman attempted to make a left turn onto Sandstone Road and drove into his path. The driver of the truck swerved in an unsuccessful effort to avoid striking the Honda Element.  Â
When the car hit the truck, the impact sent the larger vehicle onto the north shoulder of SR 20, where it overturned multiple times before coming to a stop in the middle of road. The driver of the truck was transported to Bay Medical Center.
The 33-year-old driver of the car and a four-year-old boy traveling with her escaped injury. Â
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
