LEON CO. – An 18-year-old Crawfordville woman traveling on a motorcycle died Monday evening after a collision with a pickup truck.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcycle was southbound on US-319 (Crawfordville Road) approaching County Road 2204 (Oak Ridge Road West) at 8:19 p.m. when the motorcycle ran into the back of a pickup truck traveling ahead.
Both vehicles came to a stop on the west shoulder of US 319.
The young motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident report noted that she was wearing a helmet.
The 62-year-old driver of the pickup truck, who is from Tallahassee, suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.Â
FHP was assisted at the scene by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Tallahassee Fire Department and Leon County EMS.
