A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help families who lost homes and property in the recent tornado in Hosford.  At least two homes were demolished while many other structures sustained significant damage.

With the help of Franklin County Sheriff A.J. Smith, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office has established a page titled “Liberty County Tornado Victim” at gofundme.com.   A goal has been set to raise $20,000.

The money will be used to help people to get repairs made or meet their insurance deductible, according to Liberty County Sheriff Buddy Money. Many of the long-term residents had let their insurance lapse as a result of Florida’s current insurance crisis and are now finding themselves in a state of homelessness. FEMA has provided no assistance, according to the sheriff.

Those who would prefer to donate in person can drop off a check at Centennial Bank in Bristol or bring donations to the sheriff’s office in Bristol.
