Woman critically injured
in Gadsden Co. hit & run
QUINCY – A 24-year-old Quincy woman was critically injured when she was struck by an unknown vehicle Monday evening.
The victim had stopped in the eastbound emergency lane at Mile Marker 177 on I-10 shortly before 10 p.m. She stepped out of her Mercedes SUV and was along the outside eastbound lane when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
The driver of the unknown vehicle fled the scene, leaving behind the injured woman who suffered extensive blood loss to one of her legs.
FHP Trooper James Allen Jr. responded to the scene and began life-saving care by applying a tourniquet to the woman’s leg. She was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital by Gadsden County EMS.
FHP is asking the public’s help to find the person at fault. Anyone with information about the March 27 crash is urged to contact FHP at *FHP (*347).
