BRISTOL, FL – After a day of kayaking along the Apalachicola River, members of the Chattahoochee River Conservancy recently made a stop in Liberty County where they enjoyed a welcome from some local folks and shared a late afternoon meal at the Bristol Boat Landing. The Columbus, GA based organization’s mission is to protect the Chattahoochee River through the use of science, education and advocacy.  According to their mission statement, “We believe riverfront communities and their waters are mirrors to each other.  The health of one is a direct reflection of the health of the other.” The organization’s goal is to improve water quality and protect native species as well as the economic progress of communities along the rivers.
