SCOTTS FERRY, FL – Mary Cathryn Bridges, age 96, of Scotts Ferry in Calhoun County, peacefully passed away at her home Friday, Nov. 14, 2024, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1928 in Gadsden County.
Mary Cathryn taught business education at Blountstown High School for 30 years. She enjoyed working in her yard, reading the Bible, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pug and Aliene Gaskin; husband, Charlie Cook Bridges; sister, Hazalene Reed; son-in-law, Greg Jones; and great-grandson, Christopher Bontrager.
Mary Cathryn is survived by her daughters, Pam Jones of the Carr Community and Bill Lee, Lea Barbee and husband Mark of Kinard; nephew, Chuck Reed and wife Julie of Tallahassee; grandchildren, Travis Greene and wife Natosha of Scotts Ferry, Jana Bontrager and husband Scott of Preston, ID, Valerie Rash and husband Kyle of Riverview, Mary Cathryn Harris and husband Mike of Altha, Sharlyn Marie Todd and husband Kyle of Branson, MO, Joseph Reed and wife Tiffany of Tallahassee and Cameron Reed and wife Anne of Lloyd; 12 great and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family held private services with interment at Pine Memorial Cemetery.
