Calhoun Liberty Hospital welcomes new
Chief Clinical and Operations Officer

by Kristy Terry, TMH Public Relations

BLOUNTSTOWN – Calhoun Liberty Hospital (CLH) recently welcomed Chad Moore, MSN, RN, CCRN as the organization’s new Chief Clinical & Operations Officer (CCO/COO). This is a new position that will pull clinical oversight and guidelines for operations under one umbrella to offer more streamlined quality healthcare and services.

In his new role, Moore will work with the CLH medical staff and clinical professionals to increase capacity and services to patients in Calhoun and Liberty counties. He will also take the lead on coordination with medical specialists from Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) to increase local access to specialized care. Moore is an accomplished healthcare leader with over 15 years of experience in clinical guideline development, oversight, evaluation and implementation. “I have hit the ground running and am excited about the opportunities I see for CLH,” Moore said. “The community can be proud of the commitment and dedication of the staff here, and I look forward to working alongside them to help this hospital serve to its full potential.”

Moore will also further strengthen the relationship between CLH and TMH. In 2022, the Calhoun Liberty Hospital Association, Inc. (CLHA) and TMH created a formal partnership to enhance service capabilities and resources available to CLH. The institutions created a limited liability company owned by TMH and CLHA. The LLC is governed by a Board of Managers consisting of individuals appointed by each owner. Alliant Management Services has been contracted to oversee administrative operations of the hospital since 2016. The partnership between CLHA, TMH and Alliant enhances the hospital’s ability to keep pace with clinical, technical and strategic innovations in healthcare. For patients, the impact is expanded access to healthcare closer to home.

Moore is an Alabama native, husband to Jennifer, and father of two daughters. Before joining CLH, Moore was the Executive Director of Clinical Practice at TMH in Tallahassee. He also worked in various clinical administrative leadership roles within TMH including the Cardiovascular service line and Clinical Operations Nursing Division. Before moving to the private sector, Moore served in the United States Air Force (USAF) as a decorated Nursing Officer in the rank of Captain. He was attached to the Critical Care Evacuation Squadron, charged with the mission of transporting critically wounded service members from the battlefield to Level 3 and 4 hospitals.  “Chad’s vast experience in healthcare at all levels is the perfect fit for what we are looking for as we work to meet the healthcare needs of our community,” said Chris Jepsen, CEO at CLH.  “We are already benefitting from his fresh perspective and look forward to working with him to implement our shared vision.”

Moore is joining CLH at an important time in the hospital’s evolution.  As construction begins on a new building, he will be instrumental in the development and implementation of plans to transition to the new facility in early 2025.
