Alice Faye Marshall

CLARKSVILLE, FL – Alice Faye Marshall, 75, of Clarksville passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 in Blountstown. Alice was born July 15, 1948 in Altha to the late Rufus Franklin “Stormy” Weathers and Virginia Elvira “Mamie” Bailey Weathers.

She lived in Calhoun County most of her life and was a member of Macedonia First Baptist Church. Alice graduated from Altha School in 1966. Later, she obtained her bachelor’s from New Mexico State University and her master’s from Troy State University, both in Education.

Alice married the love of her life, Jimmy Dale Marshall, on Dec. 15, 1968. She followed her husband around to his different Duty Stations while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Alice taught in numerous schools across the country during that time. Upon returning home in 1987, she began working in Calhoun County Schools. Alice faithfully educated students in Calhoun until her retirement in December 2022.

Not only did Alice dedicate her time for students, but she also spent many hours serving in the Order of Eastern Star at Blountstown Chapter #179, Marianna Chapter #129, and Washington #43. Alice loved being a member of the OES and would spend countless days planning for one of her perfect events. Alice’s house was always open to everyone, and while you were there, she would cook you a 5-star dinner, with plenty of leftovers. Alice served the Lord by serving her husband and sacrificing for her family. Alice was the perfect example to understand the saying, “You do for family.”

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Stormy and Mamie Weathers; her husband of 52 years, Jimmy Dale (Jim) Marshall, Sr.; her daughter, Jacqueline Maria Marshall; her sister, Jackie Weathers and her brother-in-law, Roy Moore.

Alice is survived by her son, Dale Marshall, and his wife Rhonda of Blountstown; her favorite grandchild, Sarah Grace Marshall; her sisters Janice Moore of Blountstown, and Jo Hancock and her husband Keith of Montgomery, AL.

Services to honor Alice’s wife will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Sumner officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery near Blountstown. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
