Obituary – Alma Doris Woodard Sanders

BRISTOL, FL – Alma Doris Woodard Sanders of Bristol passed away Sept. 24, 2024 at the age of 99 1/2.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Austin Sanders Sr.; her son, George Austin Sanders Jr.; her parents, Robert Henry Tillman Woodard and Carrie Emma Sapp Woodard; her sisters, Thelma Lucile Woodard Deason and Shirley Woodard Bateman, one brother, Othell Woodard; and a grandson, Kenneth Earl Strickland.

Survivors include her son, Ernest Eugene Sanders (Shirley) of Crandall, GA;  her sister, Cassandrae Revell Statham (Michael) of Zebulon GA; two daughters, Sharon Gail Sanders Austin (John) of Blountstown and Carla Alisa Sanders O’Conner Bruner (Jackie) of Hardaway; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Alma enjoyed working in her flower beds and sharing her knowledge and plants with everyone. She had a florist shop for over 25 years. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall.

The family held  a short graveside service at Meacham Cemetery on Oct. 19. Services were provided by Peavy Funeral Home.

If you would like to do anything in her memory, send someone in a nursing home some flowers. She loved taking flowers to people who didn’t get many.
