ALVIN WILLIS SELLARS
ALTHA – Alvin Willis Sellars, 79, of Altha, passed away on May 9, 2023, at his home. Alvin was born in Bainbridge, GA on Feb. 18, 1944, to the late Oscar and Mable Sellers. He lived in Altha since 2008 after moving from Bainbridge and was a master electrician. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed farming and wood carving. He had a special love for country music and had a voice like Merle Haggard.
Other than his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Newman; his brother, Rodney “Pug” Sellars and a grandson, Logan Hale.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Thelma Hall Sellars of Altha; his sons, Grant Sellars of Tallahassee and Gregg Sellars (Christen) of Crawfordville; his daughter, Alana Giesecke (Tim) of Tallahassee; a stepson, Mark Johnson (Pam) of Donalsonville, GA; his stepdaughters, Tina Hale of Tallahassee and Trina Draper (Matt) of Tallahassee; his brothers, Dwain Sellars (Teresa) of Bainbridge, Kyle Sellars of Thomasville, GA and Steve Sellars of Floral City; his sisters, Marlene Ingram of Baimbridge and Faye Kozeman of Cleveland, TN; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Judi Sellars and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Services to honor Alvin’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gino Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in New Shiloh Cemetery near Altha. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Online condolences may be made at adamsfh.com
