ANNIE LAURA HELLON JACKSON POLEY

CLARKSVILLE – Annie Laura Hellon Jackson Poley, better known as Hellon J. Poley, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 23, 2023. Her passing is a celebration of her time on earth and a rejoicing that her pain and suffering is over. Hellon was born in Jay  on June 24, 1937. She was raised in the Jay-Pensacola area. She later moved to Alabama where she met her husband of 50 years. She moved to Clarksville in 1977 where she then lived until her death.

Hellon loved serving her Lord, spending time with her family, friends, growing plants, and cutting up with everyone. She did various jobs during her life. Growing up she worked on farms with her parents, she worked at a diner (where she met her husband), she did housecleaning and yard work, she worked at the Blountstown Drive-in-Theater and spent over 15 years working with her husband planting palm trees.

Hellon is proceeded in death by her parents JD and Irene Jackson; her loving, husband Ernest Poley Sr.; son, Ernest Poley Jr.; brothers, Travis Jackson, Lee Don Jackson and James Barber Jackson and her
brother-in-law, George Simpson.

Hellon is survived by daughters, Star Pickron (Roy) of Clarksville and Dove Thompson (Cole) of Clarksville; sisters, Shirley Walter (Bruce) of Jacksonville, Carol White (Norman) of Pensacola and Alice Simpson of Clarksville; brother, JD Jackson Jr. (Carolyn) of Hosford; grandchildren, Marcus Grantham, Blake Pickron, Sky McPheters and her husband Royce, Andrew, Micah Thompson and Rain Thompson; five great-grandchildren, Connor Grantham, Mason Grantham, Rose Grantham, James McPheters and Sunshine McPheters.

Services were held at Frink Baptist Church on March 28 where the family received friends until service began. Rev. Darreyl Duggar officiated. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery in Clarksville. Family and friends then gathered at the Poley/Thompson home for lunch.

All arrangements were made under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
