BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Bennett Thomas Eubanks Jr., known affectionately as Ben, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Dothan, AL, at the age of 93.

Born on Aug. 12, 1930 in Chattahoochee, Ben led a life marked by devotion to his family, community, and country. Ben attended Bolles Military School in Jacksonville, followed by Blountstown High School. He furthered his education at Florida State University and completed graduate studies there, laying a strong foundation for his diverse professional and civic contributions.

His career spanned several key roles, including positions at The St. Joe Company in Port St. Joe and Telogia Power Plant. He notably served as the Director of Adult Education for the Calhoun County School District for many years and was the esteemed owner of Eubanks Insurance Agency in Blountstown for over 35 years. A veteran of the United States Army, Ben served with distinction in the 15th Infantry Division, 14th Regimental Combat Team during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. His commitment to service continued throughout this life, influencing many who had the honor of knowing him.

Ben was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bristol, where he participated actively in the community of faith. His personal interests included spending time with family and pets, being an avid reader, and keenly following the stock market daily

Ben’s legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Faye Eubanks; children, Bennett Thomas Eubanks III, Shayee Eloise Johnson (Rick), and Cy Eubanks (Wendy); and his sisters, Eloise Gholson and Betty Ann Cayson. He was a cherished grandfather to Reed, Ryan, Blayne, Benjamin, Natalie, Audrey, Malac, Shad, Abrey, Elam, Mackenzie, and Cydnee, and a great-grandfather to Ty, Ella, Anna, Nolin, Laurel, Adelaide, Preslie, Auden, and Bash.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennett Thomas Eubanks and Eloise Brantley Eubanks; daughter, Traycee Loree Cherry; and sister, Norma Elaine Yon.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15 from 11:00 a.m.  to 12:30 p.m. EST at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bristol.

The funeral service will commence at 12:30 EST, followed by a graveside service at Pine Memorial Cemetery in Blountstown.

Todd Wahlquist of Bevis Funeral Home is assisting the Eubanks family with their arrangements.  Ben’s life, marked by integrity and kindness, will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him.
