Betty Ann Griffin

BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Betty Ann Griffin, 79, of Blountstown, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her late ex-husband, Clarence F Griffin; her daughter, Lisa Ashlock; her brothers, John Wayne Bass and James Croma Bass Jr.; her parents, James Croma Bass Sr. and Lucille Anne Butler Bass; and her grandson, Daniel Kear.

She is survived by her children,  John Griffin, Jason Griffin, Cherie Kear, and Amanda Griffin as well as her adopted children, Brandi Phillips, Candice Barnum, and Travis Griffin; her surviving grandchildren, Keith Ashlock, Melissa Kear Sanchez and her great-grandchildren, Jimmie Ray Phillips III, Jon Wyatt Phillips, Jacob River Phillips, Jeffery Matthew, Lee McQuiston, Xander Bee, Easton McQuiston, and Cherokee Kaptiva Griswold.

Betty was such a wonderful woman who raised her children, watched them raise kids of their own and then proceeded to raise her three grandchildren (adopted children in 2001) after her daughter Lisa passed away in 2000. She loved watching them grow up and start families of their own.

Betty absolutely adored her great-grand kids and always knew what to say to make people smile.  She could brighten anyone’s day with her infectious laughter. Her love for life will continue to live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Betty will be greatly missed. We hope the angels know what they have.

Memorial services will be held at Frink Baptist Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb.10.
