Betty Traylor
BRISTOL, FL – Betty Eubanks Traylor, 96, Â of Bristol, passed away peacefully on the evening of March 19, 2024.
She was born Aug. 9, 1927 in Bristol and was the youngest daughter of Byrd and Bertus Eubanks.
Betty was a homemaker, mother and worked as a certified nursing assistant. She was a charter member of Forrest Hills Methodist Church in Quincy and a current member of Bristol Christian Church. She loved her church and sang in the choir for many years. Betty was also active in the community, being involved with the Women’s Club and the Red Hat Society for several years. She kept strong family bonds even as her family moved many times with young children due to her husband’s work as a manager in the insurance industry. Through it all she was able to keep their lives stable and caring.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Cephus Carl Traylor, Sr.; her daughter, Mary Emmalyn Owens; her brothers, Paul, Silas and Wilhoit Eubanks and a sister, Desi Marr.
She is survived by her sons, Cephus Carl Traylor, Jr. and his wife Nancy and Robert Lewis Traylor and his wife Jane; her sister and brother, Doris Traylor and Johnny Eubanks; her grandchildren, Melissa Prater, Jeremy Traylor, Kimberly Caputo, Karen Johnson, Christy Pitts, Whitney Traylor and Bobby Traylor and her great-grandchildren, Luke Prater, Ella Prater, Lynnlee Traylor, Matthew Traylor, Lyndsey Caputo, Nate Johnson, Dawson Brown and Conner Traylor.
Services to honor Betty’s life will be held 2 Â p.m. ET Thursday, March 28 at Bristol Christian Church with Rev. Richard Keiser officiating. Interment will follow in Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
