Boyd “Lee” Foster Sr.
ALTHA, FL – Boyd “Lee” Foster Sr., 86, of Altha, passed away peacefully at home with his son, Boyd Jr., holding his hand on Saturday, June 29, 2024.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1937 to the late Howard Hal Foster and Fannie Williams Foster in Lenoir City, TN.
He completed high school and served in the Navy for two years. He married the love of his life, Synthia “Sindy” Foster, in 1977 in Knoxville, TN where they merged their lives and families together for the next 47 years. He retired from Alcoa and then moved to Florida where he enjoyed his retirement and spent time with his spouse and friends.
Lee was a lifelong lover of all things bluegrass, baseball, playing cards, and most important of all, his spouse, Sindy Foster. He spent many years playing music and cards at the Alcoa Union Hall and then later in Florida. He spent many hours with his wife going to antique stores and estate sales. His favorite pasttime was playing cards, where he rarely lost unless it was playing Rummy against his wife.
He is preceded in death by Synthia “Sindy” Joan Foster, who was the love of his life.
He is survived by his four children, Boyd Foster Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Jeff (Betsy) Batey of Gates, NC, Susan Biswas of Leawood, KS and Cheree (Paul) Perry of Knoxville, TN. Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Cynthia (Lance) Mantooth, Joshua (Jamie) Foster, John Foster, Eric Biswas, Priya (Ollie) Knight, Lisa Biswas, Mark Biswas, Nathaniel Haley, Paul (LeAnn) Perry, Cassandra (Jake) Bates, Sam (Brianna) Perry, along with several great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held for family at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Loudon, TN.
