BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Charles A. Richards, 85, of Blountstown, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, in Panama City.
Charles was born Feb. 14, 1938, in Blountstown to the late Thad and Pearl Richards.
He was a veteran, serving in the United States Air Force and later was the co-owner of Bryant Grocery and Saw Company in Blountstown. Charles served his county as county commissioner from 1984 to 1988 and was also a member of the Blountstown Shrine Club.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Richards and his sisters, Roselee Whitfield and Estelle Whaley.
Survivors include his sons, Chuck Richards and his wife Robin, Steve Richards and Thad Richards and his wife Bonnie; his daughters, Terri Hatton and her husband Terry and Renee Schlyen and her husband Pete; his grandchildren, Seth Revell and his wife Becky, Aimee Wood and her husband Cole, Ashley Richards, and his wife Valerie, Adam Richards and his wife Thu, Jacy Johnson and her husband Seth, Ally Lewllyn and her husband Matt, Carly Richards and her husband Tait, J.T. Richards and his fiancé Emma, Emma Richards and Aidan Richards; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Kaitlyn Wood, Emily and Isabelle Wood, Cameron Richards, Penelope Richards Addyson and Braylon Bailey, Evie, Grady Schuler and his sister, Olivia Vickery and her husband Broward; also Diane Holland, who was a friend and care giver to both Charles and Ann.
Services to honor Charles’ life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at Nettle Ridge Cemetery with a time of visitation beginning at 1 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences can be made at adamsfh.com.
