BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Connie Berry Davis Carpenter, age 83 of Blountstown, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024.
Connie was born in Winter Garden to William Ernest Berry and Vera Inez Berry on Oct. 17, 1940. She was preceded in death by her parents and her adoptive father, John E. Davis of Nokomis, sisters Sandra Seekford and Nel Beck and a brother, Jim Davis.
Connie is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Alton “Al” Carpenter of Blountstown; one sister, Catherine Myer and her husband John of Sarasota; daughter Amy Carpenter Johnson and her husband Todd of Blountstown; their daughters, Hannah Johnson McCalvin and her husband Jamie of Blountstown, Caroline Johnson Reid and her husband Brett of Alliance, Dana Clark Kimball and her husband Cody of Hosford, daughter Lori Carpenter Tatum and her husband David of Altha and their son Zach Tatum and his wife Natalie of Marietta, GA; great-grandchildren, Caden McCalvin and Ellie Grace McCalvin, Wayne Reid, Briar Kimball and Reece Kimball.
Connie was a faithful member of the Blountstown United Methodist Church for 60 years. She was also an active member of the United Methodist Women and taught a Sunday School class for many years. Connie was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and received recognition from the Florida State Genealogical Society for being a descendent of a Florida Pioneer.
Connie loved her family dearly and enjoyed travel, genealogy research and time spent with friends and family.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Blountstown United Methodist Church. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, Jan. 7 from 4-6 p.m. at the Peavy Funeral Home Chapel.
