Daisy Verlene Plazarin
MARIANNA, FL – Daisy Verlene Plazarin, 85, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Feb. 17, 2024, in Marianna.
Verlene was born in Bushnell on Feb. 2, 1939 to the late William and Daisy Crawford.
After working in the ministry and moving to various parts of Florida for several years, Verlene settled in the Marianna area in 1985 with her family. She became a Christian when she was 12, served her Lord Jesus faithfully and was a light to those around her.
She worked several jobs to help support the family but her most cherished was when she served as a teacher and educator with the Apalachicola First Baptist Church School. Throughout her participation in the ministry, she was a role model to women around her, and a mother to the youth and children she crossed paths with. She enjoyed singing with her husband in church, sewing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, Larry C. Plazarin; her brother, Dennis (Buddy) Crawford and her sister, Marlene Sumner.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Rev. William “Brother Bill” Plazarin; her son William Shaw Plazarin II and Paul T. Plazarin; her sister, Lavonia Ramsey as well as seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to honor Verlene’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Strickland and the Honorable Gordon Shuler officiating.
Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be made at adamsfh.com.
