BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Debra Faye “Debbie” Peavy passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at her home in Blountstown.

Debbie was born on Jan. 3, 1960, in Ft. Walton Beach to Elliott Jessie Whittaker and Ruby Lucille (Nichols) Whittaker McCoy. She moved from Ft. Walton Beach to her family’s homestead in Clarksville in 1973.

Debbie met her husband Marlon in 1974, and they were married on June 23, 1978.

Debbie and Marlon built a life around running their two businesses, Peavy Funeral Home and Shiver’s Florist. They took on the responsibilities of those businesses and viewed them as serving the local families in the community. Debbie enjoyed many things, including watching her favorite shows, NCIS and Swamp People, sitting on the porch at the Chipola River listening to the owls, reading before bedtime, her puppy Luca, and gator hunting.

Debbie had a love for the Lord, a love for talking, and a love for music. She would share all of them freely with anyone who sat still long enough.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Elliott Whittaker and her brother, Larry Whittaker.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 46 years, Marlon Peavy; daughter and son-in-law, Nichole and Jerry Kollarik; son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Niki Peavy; grandchildren, Aaron Kollarik, Lesleigh Peavy, Logan Peavy, Iann Kollarik; mother and stepfather, Lucille and Robert McCoy; sister-in-law, Peggy Register; nephews, nieces, and friends that she loved dearly.
