Guinn Ray Dennis
BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Guinn Ray Dennis, 95, of Blountstown, passed into the loving hands of Jesus on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024 in Blountstown.
He was born in Jacksonville, TX, January 22, 1929, to Billy Barlette Dennis and Mamie Grace (Welch) Dennis.
He moved to Blountstown in 1973 when he married his wife, Elsie Dennis, who preceded him in death in November of 2022 after 51 years of marriage.
Ray, as he was fondly known, was a man of many talents. He came from the generation that believed in repairing and not replacing. He was able to repair electrical problems, water problems and general “honey-do” problems or projects!
He was musically inclined and had the ability to play the piano by ear. He was a licensed pilot and owned his own plane at one time and enjoyed taking short trips with Elsie to various places as well as visits to see his family in Texas. He was a pro at Sudoku! He used an ink pen instead of a pencil to complete each puzzle!
He was a wholesale beauty supply salesman and owned his own business, Dennis Beauty Supply, for many years. He and his wife shared a common interest in beauty supply products- he sold them, and she utilized the products in her beauty shop.
Ray and Elsie also shared a love for animals, traveling, camping, fishing, and the Gulf Coast.
