Obituary – Hazel Anitta Landers
ALTHA, FL – Hazel Anitta Landers, age 57, of Altha passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.
Anitta was born on April 3, 1966, in Greenville, SC. Â She was the daughter of Samuel Edward Mathis Sr. and the late Verna Lou Williams Mathis.
She  spent most of her life in the Florida panhandle. She was a proud mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Anitta was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed crafting, reading, being outdoors but most of all spending time with her friends and family.
Anitta is preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Landers, her mother, Verna Lou Mathis and her sisters, Â Aretta Webb and Regina Walker.
She is survived by her father, Samuel Ed Mathis Sr. of Altha; son Samuel Landers of Pensacola; daughter and son-in-law Mariah and Dylan Josey of Baker; brother Eddy Mathis of Spartanburg, SC; nieces Samantha Soileau, Lauren Mathis, Brittany Smith, and Breanna Foster; nephews Patton Mathis, Chandler Mathis and James Walker along with two great-nephews and one great-niece.
Services were held Saturday, Feb.24 at the Church of God in Altha.
All arrangements were under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
