Obituary – Iris Ouida Harbin

BLOUNTSTOWN, FL – Iris Ouida Chason Harbin, age 90 of Blountstown,  passed away at home on Jan. 12, 2024. Iris was born to the late Ira and Ester Glass Chason on June 3, 1933, at the home of her late grandparents, George and Mattie Glass. Following graduation from Blountstown High School, Iris moved to Tallahassee.. While working there, she met and married Walter Harbin.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband of 26 years, Walter Harbin, and her companion of 36 years, Murphy McFarland.

She is survived by three children: Sheryl (Sherry) Walden of Blountstown, Pat Stewart of Blountstown, and Don Harbin of VA. Grandchildren include Steven and Tawnia Arrant of Fairmount, GA; Georgia Walden Gunn of Tallahassee; Josh Walden of Bay City, MI; Wendy Reeder of Altha and Courtney and Ben Rose of Austin, TX. Great- grandchildren are Abby Gunn, Austin Arrant, Caylynn and Johnny Aaron, Xavier Rose and Ada Rose. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends.
